Office Depot entered the UK in 1998, when it acquired Viking Direct as a wholly owned subsidiary. We currently employ a workforce of around sixteen hundred people spread between our Head Office in Leicester and our warehouses and contact centres in Leicester, London, Manchester and Dublin.

We provide a same or next day delivery service of a wide range of stationery, office equipment, and computer supplies and warehouse requisites to an extremely broad customer base spread throughout Britain and Ireland. Our customer base consists of organisations of all sizes and natures.

We have established an enviable reputation and we take pride in the fact that we provide unrivalled levels of ‘fanatical’ service and customer care at highly competitive prices, a factor which brings in a very high volume of repeat orders.

The adoption of Quality Management was seen as a way to underpin, support and ensure the continuing effectiveness of the core principles upon which our commercial success is based and in September 2000 the company successfully gained registration to ISO 9002:1994. The logical next step for us was to seek registration to the new standard ISO 9001:2000.

Our overriding objective is to make Office Depot a truly compelling place to work, shop and invest. In order to achieve this we are committed to a policy providing a quality of both products and ‘fanatical’ service which meets not only the specified requirements of our customers but also their implied expectations.

We are confident that Office Depot can assist in improving the quality of the working environment of our customers and as a consequence, improve their efficiency.

We are committed to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 and to continually improve the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.

This Policy strengthens and supplements our Mission Statement, which is common to all Office Depot and Viking Direct operations worldwide. This is prominently displayed in all of our offices and warehouses.
