GUILBERT COMPANY NAME CHANGE TO OFFICE DEPOT UK LTD.

One name, one company, one identity – this is the clear message from the office supplies market leader, as from August 31st, 2004, Guilbert UK Ltd will become Office Depot UK Ltd. The name change has been completed to create an easily recognised, unified corporate identity.

Changing the name to Office Depot UK Ltd follows the year in which the company strengthened its position in the office supplies market subsequent to the acquisition of Guilbert by Office Depot in June 2003. With this strategic acquisition, Office Depot has doubled its presence in Europe.

The day to day running of the company, its staffing, and operations are not affected in any way by the name change, but it does provide a greater sense of 'belonging' to the parent group and reinforces the message that Office Depot is the European market leader.
