OFFICE DEPOT WINS EUROPEAN OFFICE PRODUCTS AWARD FOR THE 3RD YEAR.

Andover, United Kingdom - January 25th, 2007 - Office Depot has won, for the third time, the desired European Office Products Award 2007  'Environmental Responsibility - Reseller'.   A panel of respected industry experts gave the award to Office Depot, at an award ceremony held in Frankfurt, on 25th January 2007.

Dirk Collin (EVP & Managing Director Europe) said  "Together with the increasing global climatic changes must grow the feeling of responsibility of companies for our environment".

Since 2004, Office Depot have been actively working on minimising the negative influence of our activities on the environment. We create projects around sustainable improvement; such as creating a special catalogue of environmental products and services. Office Depot see it as a company’s duty to make society aware of the vulnerability of the environment. Treating environmental resources with respect is therefore high on our priority list. Winning this award shows Office Depots initiative is recognised by the market.

These unique independent European Office Products Awards were launched in 2002 to recognise excellence within the office products industry. Now part of the annual Paperworld Exhibition, the awards are further solidified as the most prestigious honour in the European industry and recognition of having achieved the highest standards.

The Environmental Responsibility category is judged on new product developments, education and training, supplier audits, independent accreditation, strategic environmental planning and case studies showing the achievements of environmental initiatives.
