OFFICE DEPOT WINS EUROPEAN OFFICE PRODUCTS AWARD.

Andover, United Kingdom - February 15th, 2005 - Office Depot has won the prestigious European Office Products 'Environmental Responsibility' Award, 2005.  A panel of respected industry experts gave the award to Office Depot, in the reseller category, at an award ceremony held in Frankfurt, on 28th January.

The European Office Products Awards were launched in 2002 to recognise excellence within the office products industry. These awards are unique in their independence and in that they cover the whole of Europe. Now part of the annual Paperworld Exhibition, the awards are further solidified as the most prestigious honour in the European industry and recognition of having achieved the highest standards.

The Environmental Responsibility category is judged on new product developments, education and training, supplier audits, independent accreditation, strategic environmental planning and case studies showing the achievements of environmental initiatives.

Peter Birks Managing Director and Vice President, UK and Ireland said, "Office Depot is truly committed to environmental issues and is honoured to have received this prestigious award. This is a great, independent endorsement of the hard work and dedication of all those employees within the company, in the UK and Ireland, who have put time and effort into delivering this outstanding result."
