Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Neil Austrian was named Office Depot's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in October 2010. He previously served as Office Depot's interim Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from October 4, 2004 until March 11, 2005. Mr. Austrian has served as an Office Depot Director since 1998 when the Company merged with Viking Office Products, where he had been a director since 1988. He became Office Depot's Lead Director in March 2006. Mr. Austrian was President and Chief Operating Officer of the National Football League from April 1991 until December 1999. He was a Managing Director of Dillon, Read & Co. Inc. from October 1987 until March 1991. Before Dillon Read, Mr. Austrian was Chairman and CEO of Showtime/The Movie Channel, a joint venture between Warner Communications and Viacom, and he also served as Chief Executive of Doyle, Dane, Bernbach, the advertising firm. He is currently a Director of DirecTV.

Dirk Collin, a Belgian national, is based in the Office Depot European Headquarters in Venlo (NL), and reports directly to Neil Austrian. In this position, Collin is responsible for driving profitable growth and expansion in all European operations. Previous to joining Office Depot, Collin served as General Manager, Northern Europe and Vice President Sales Operations (Europe, Asia, Middle East) for StorageTek Corp, headquartered in Denver, Colorado. He also contributed to the success of Xerox Corporation in Europe, having spent over 25 years in various senior management roles. Reporting to Collin in the European organization are the leaders of Procurement & Supply Chain, Merchandizing & Marketing, New Markets & Strategy, as well as the Regional VP's.
